British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry could be gifted Prince Andrew’s Duke of York title. Which makes perfect sense. Because who better to inherit a disgraced prince’s title than a disgraced prince?

Royal Family News: Andrew And Harry Are So Alike

According to Geo TV, constitutional expert Iain MacMarthanne is remarking on Prince Andrew’s situation. Which today involves him being the subject of a sexual assault lawsuit and a defrocked member of the monarchy. Andrew has been summarily stripped of his titles and is in the odd situation of not being able to pass them down, and keep it in the family as it were.

This is because of an arcane royal rule which dictates that dukedoms can only be transferred between men. As in males. As in, in the 21st century, Andrew has two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are forbidden to inherit a title because they are female.

Royal Family News: The Duke of York Has Two Daughters

Institutionally speaking, the Duke of York title, “is traditionally held by the second son of the sovereign which in this case would be Prince Harry once Prince Charles ascends the throne.”

Ian told Express, “Without a son, and by the terms of the letters patent under which the dukedom of York was again created in 1986, the death of the present duke will see the title merge with the crown.”

He points out that, “Arguably, with Charles’ accession, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex becomes the sovereign’s second son and could under the custom become the next Duke of York in addition to being duke of Sussex.”

This is despite the fact that Harry is now the Fresh Prince of Montecito and made it clear he wants no part of the monarchy. Except for the freebies, like royal protection without any of the royal duty.

So, what is this about Harry’s latest whine? Apparently he is miffed that because he defected from the monarchy, he is not entitled to monarchical perks. Memo to Harry: get on board the reality train, it’s not the same as the gravy train, ie, the “financial freedom” caboose.

It has been reported that, “Prince Harry launched a judicial review of the Home Office’s decision to reject him for police protection when visiting the UK.” In a pitch perfect response, “Dai Davies has made it clear that the Duke of Sussex simply cannot “pick and choose” when he gets bodyguards as it was “his prerogative to choose to go America.” But it could be that Harry is tone deaf?
