Is Melania Trump Now Copying Meghan Markle’s Style?

Even though Meghan Markle has made it pretty clear that she is no fan of President Donald Trump and his politics, it appears as though his wife Melania Trump might be ripping a page out of Meghan’s fashion book.

As a matter of fact, many people couldn’t help but notice that Melania on her last day in London looked very much like Meghan Markle did during last year’s Trooping the Colour. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, Melania’s very fashionable outfits during her visit to London and Buckingham Palace looked very ‘Meghan Markle-esque,” so to speak. A lot of people also couldn’t help but notice that Melania wore a white hat that was very similar to the hat that Meghan wore during the 2018 Trooping the Colour event. The Duchess wore a pale pink, flat-brimmed hat while standing next to Prince Harry on the balcony of Buckingham Palace that year.

Of course, it might have been nothing more than a pure coincidence. That, or Melania Trump and Meghan Markle just have similar tastes in fashion. However, there’s some speculation that Melania might have coordinated her outfits for a very good reason.

There are some people that believe Melania’s hat might have been a nod to Meghan after her husband Donald Trump called her “nasty” during a recent media interview. When Trump was told about some of the things that Meghan said about him back in 2016, the President responded with, “I didn’t know she was nasty.” Trump later backtracked on his comments by saying that he never said or intended to say that in the first place.

Melania Trump Hasn’t Made Comment On The Fashion Similarities

While Melania Trump herself hasn’t said anything during her short stay in London, her outfits definitely did all of the talking for her. Now, whether or not Melania Trump and Meghan Markle will ever share a cup of tea together at Buckingham Palace in the future remains to be seen.

Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined The Queen and members of The Royal Family at the annual Trooping the Colour, to celebrate Her Majesty’s official birthday. Trooping the Colour orginated from traditional preparations for battle and has commemorated the birthday of the sovereign for more than 250 years. In the 18th century, guards from the royal palaces regularly assembled to “troop" colours or flags down the rank, so they could be seen and recognised by the soldiers. In 1748, it was announced this parade would also mark the Sovereign’s official birthday. Trooping the Colour is performed by regiments of the British and Commonwealth armies for The Queen’s birthday parade, allowing them to pay a personal tribute to Her Majesty. Today over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians came together on Horse Guards Parade in London in a great display of military precision, horsemanship and fanfare. The parade concludes with a 41-gun salute fired by The King’s Troop, following which The Queen leads members of The Royal Family back to the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Air Force flypast display.
