General Hospital spoilers reveal that Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Ingo Rademacher (Jasper “Jax” Jacks) both lost their jobs on the ABC soap. The actors would not give in and get the COVID-19 vaccine despite mandates being put in place. However, fans are talking about what happens after the mandate is lifted. Could Burton and Rademacher be rehired?
Steve Burton’s Exit
GH spoilers reveal that it was teased that the Cassadine Island showdown could result in one character’s death. Some viewers believed it was Jason and they were right. Even though Jason allegedly died in the collapse, the door was left open for the character to return one day. Jason’s body was never found and soap fans know what that means… a surprise resurrection!
Burton was let go due to him refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine. All cast and crew members are required to be vaccinated against the virus. However, Burton was one who was against the mandate and refused.
GH Spoilers: Ingo Rademacher Fired
Around that same time, Jax ran into Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) as he was headed out of Port Charles. Like Burton, Rademacher also refused to get the shot and as a result, was fired. There were a lot of questions, assumptions, and controversy surrounding Rademacher’s exit. The reason for his termination was not made immediately clear, but is now confirmed to be due to refusing to get vaccinated.
Lawsuit Over Termination
General Hospital spoilers reveal that shortly after Rademacher and Burton were confirmed to be let go due to not adhering to the mandate, more news surfaced. Rademacher reportedly decided to sue over him losing his job at the ABC soap.
General Hospital Spoilers: Rehired After Mandate Lifted?
So, what happens if and when the vaccine mandate is lifted? Could one or both of the characters return? Even though Burton could return one day, Jax probably would be recast. This is due to Rademacher sharing at least one transphobic post on his Instagram account.
I am aware of a transphobic post shared by a fellow General Hospital actor. Shame on you. You have some serious unlearning and education to do. I feel deeply disappointed that such a public display of ignorance could come from our GH family.

When Cassandra James (Dr. Terry Randolph) posted about it on Twitter, many cast members supported her. Soon after, the official Twitter account for GH commented on the matter. Although Rademacher was not specifically mentioned in the statement, the soap made it clear that transphobia would not be tolerated.

I don't see Ingo coming back. He's suing ABC and Nancy Lee Grahn did everything in her power to create animosity on the set for him. I wish to God they'd just get rid of her.
I agree who does she think she is , she needs to mind her own business Bring back Into and Steve get rid of her has been attitude
good riddance to Ingo. His character was always on and off and after his comments about Transgender good riddance to his rubbish.
Steve on the other hand understood that his stance would cost his job. He should be rehired (if he even chooses to come back) as soon as the mandate is lifted or he gets vaccinated. He is man to look up to where Ingo is a baby who didn’t get his way. Waaaaaa
