British royal family news reveals that the world awoke to the stunning news that Prince Andrew has settled the sexual abuse lawsuit brought against him by Virginia Giuffre rather than potentially face a jury trial in fall. Documents filed with the court did not indicate the amount of the settlement but according to the Daily News it involves a, “deal said to be worth £7.5million with his accuser without admitting her accusations.”

The settlement papers were filed this morning in New York indicating that the two parties have reached a “settlement in principle.” At the same time royal watchers do not see a way back to public life for the man nicknamed “Randy Andy.”
Theories are floating as to why Andrew suddenly settled, after days ago asking for a jury to hear the trial. Some royal watchers think the heir to the throne Prince Charles demanded that Andrew settle. A royal source told MailOnline, “I’m sure that Charles has had enough of the situation. Charles would have said to Andrew that he needed to get this sorted out as soon as possible and before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations begin. Charles did not want this hanging over the Royal Family this year.”

But a former royal security officer, Paul Page, told the Sun he believes that Queen Elizabeth was behind the decision: “This wasn’t his decision, this was the Queen’s,” saying that, “Andrew’s story was ‘full of holes’ and the Duke ‘would have been slaughtered’ in his deposition.”
What happens next? Andrew, “will now make a ‘substantial donation’ to Mrs Giuffre’s charity supporting victims’ rights, and praised her ‘bravery’ and that of other trafficking victims, saying he has ‘never intended’ to malign her character.”
Giuffre, brought the suit last August, alleging he sexually abused her on three occasions at the behest of Andrew’s dead convicted pedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein. The incidents were said to have taken place over 20 years ago when she was 17, and a minor under US law.
Andrew has always denied the allegations against him.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Is This Year
As part of the settlement Andrew said he, “regrets his association with Epstein,” and will demonstrate his remorse, “by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”
