Royal Family News: Public Wants “Steady” Camilla Versus “Glamorous” Diana As Their Queen?

British royal family news divulges that the monarchy made a splash last month when it was announced that Camilla would be titled Queen Consort when the time came. When her husband Prince Charles ascends the throne and becomes king, she will not be Princess Consort, but rather has been bumped up a notch.

It was a revelation for a woman who has had a rocky relationship with the public, in part because of her label as a home wrecker. But now one royal expert thinks that it is because of her contrast to Charles’ first wife that Camilla will make a most excellent queen.

Ingrid Seward is the Editor in Chief of Majesty Magazine and she thinks the public doesn’t want, “another glamorous Diana on the throne.” She told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat that Camilla’s low key presence will be a, “very good thing,” when the time arrives and she is made Prince Charles’ Queen.

Nonetheless, she did acknowledge the past negativity that congealed around Camilla and thinks that she still has a way to go in order to bump up her popularity, especially in the US

She stated, “But globally she’s not so popular, especially in the United States, because of this huge swell for Diana that will never go away. So I feel that Camilla and Charles have always got the ghost of Diana hovering over them.”

According to Seward, Camilla does have one thing going for her, albeit this is a left-handed compliment: “I don’t think the world wants another glamorous Diana on the throne, I think after the Queen goes, to have someone steady and charming but slightly in the background like Camilla is probably a very good thing.”

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe chimed in with a story about how Camilla has admirably supported the families of soldiers killed in conflicts.

Royal Family News – Duncan Larcombe Has Good Things To Say About Camilla

He shared, “I was writing about the 3 Rifles Battalion that had just got back from Afghanistan. Thirty of their men had been killed in that conflict, and Camilla was the Colonel of Chief, as she still is. And it hadn’t been publicized, but I found out from the commanding officer of this unit, that she had handwritten a note to all of the 30 soldiers that were killed, all of their significant relatives, under the radar.”

He went on to praise Camilla’s touching gesture: “She didn’t have to do that, but that showed to me that Camilla is not just the colonel in chief of the three rifles, she’s not just patron of a charity, she really means it and she is incredibly passionate about those causes.”
