The Young and the Restless Spoilers Monday, July 1: Chelsea’s Heartbreaking Rejection Crushes Adam – Phyllis Discovers Kevin’s the Kidnapper

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Monday, July 1, tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will hope for a romantic reunion with Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan). At Dark Horse, Adam wants Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to leave so they can be alone. When Nick refuses, Chelsea suggests she’d like some private time with Adam, too.

Once Nick exits, Adam plants a kiss on Chelsea and talks about how he almost gave up. He suggests going home, so they take their conversation back to the penthouse. Unfortunately, Chelsea isn’t there to get back together with Adam. She fills him in on Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) being at camp and doesn’t want to go get him. Chelsea insists she only returned to make Adam let her go.

Adam makes a strong pitch, but Chelsea isn’t having it. She doesn’t think they can have their happily ever after now. Chelsea has moved on and never wants Connor to know he’s a Newman. Adam isn’t keen on letting his son live a lie and questions if Chelsea even loves her new husband. He feels Chelsea loves him without fear or judgment, but she just doesn’t think that’s true anymore.

After Chelsea walks out the door, Adam’s left looking distraught. Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) turns to Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) for help with a computer issue. She runs into Kevin at Society and starts chattering about Dark Horse, but a whiff of Kevin changes everything. Phyllis recognizes the scent of her kidnapper and grabs Kevin around the neck as she accuses him.

Kevin hints that the cologne’s a popular one, but Phyllis isn’t buying that. She lets Kevin leave, but insists this isn’t over. Nick arrives next and mentions Chelsea coming back to see Adam. Phyllis isn’t surprised, but she objects when Nick rants about he’d be married to Chelsea right now if it weren’t for her. Chelsea lied and stole, so Phyllis doesn’t get why Nick’s keen on defending her.

Nick eventually alludes to having unresolved issues to address with Chelsea. As for Kevin, he bumps into Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) at Crimson Lights. She’s playfully annoyed that she had to find out he was back in Genoa City like this. They sit down to catch up, which leads to Mariah admitting she’s the new head of Power Communications. Kevin’s proud, but he admits he’s got some trouble in his own life.

Although he doesn’t go into the details, Kevin confesses that he’s got a few people angry with him. Mariah suggests Kevin should take back control by reshaping the narrative. At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Ana Hamilton (Loren Lott) talks to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). Ana notes she confronted Devon about his panic attack with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).

They discuss how Devon intended to pack up Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) stuff, but Elena grows concerned that maybe they pushed him to do it too soon. Devon walks in soon after and tells a story about Hilary at GC Buzz. He’s thankful for Ana and Elena’s help in dealing with his grief. After some flashbacks of Hilary, Devon embraces Elena and Ana as he keeps trying to move forward.
