Ashland’s terminal cancer illness hoax was terrible. But Diane’s faked murder scam was worse.

It can be argued that Ashland looks better when sitting aside from Diane. It is also projectable that this paring will become more than friends as spring turns into summer on Y&R.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Ashland Locke Loses His Gusto

Ashland is not the type to exit a fight. But when Diane’s son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) told him off in the park, Ashland did not punch back.

Newman’s character truly loves Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). That little boy, who Ashland still considers to be his son, is the only bright spot right now. But if Kyle has his way, Ashland will lose that as well.

Enter Diane. She is advocating for her right to have a relationship with Kyle, Harrison, and Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier). Ashland will make the connection as quickly as devoted The Young and the Restless viewers.

Y&R Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Wants Back In

Diane has no current allies. Enter Ashland stage right.  Walters’ character is preaching patience. But that is not her bent. She will need to realize some form of progress with Kyle in the relatively near future or create a scenario where that happens.

Like Ashland, Diane has a very creative mind. That, along with soapy circumstances TPTB can create, should allow Diane to remain in Kyle’s path regularly.

Diane never planned to announce she faked her murder, move back to GC, and spend her later years watching Kyle from afar. No, she wants to be forgiven by him and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Abbotts And Newmans Share Similar Enemies

It can not be fully argued that the entire Abbott and Newman family detests Ashland. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) still cares for the man she fell in love with, defended, married, and continued to defend.

Their marriage was annulled, and then Ashland saved her life. So, Victoria’s perspective is different than the other Newmans.

As for the Abbotts, Kyle’s stance will harden when he learns that his mother is becoming friends with Ashland. If that connection grows to more than that, which seems both plausible and useful, Kyle’s distrust will grow.
