Courtney Love revealed in a recently deleted Instagram post that Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp saved her life by giving her CPR after an overdose in 1995.
According to Loud Wire, the founder of the band Hole revealed in the post that, in 1995 outside of the Viper Room nightclub, Depp administered CPR to her following an overdose. Continue reading and we’ll fill you in on the details.
Jonny Depp – Saves Courtney Love After Crack Overdose
It reportedly happened outside of the famed Viper Room, a club that Johnny Depp owned a couple of years prior to the incident. In the deleted post, according to NME, the musician wrote, “I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly, but I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside the Viper Room with Sal.”
The actor and record producer went on to elaborate on how the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas star looked out for her daughter following the incident, writing, “Johnny – when I was on crack and Frances was having to suffer through that with social workers – wrote her a four-page letter that she’s never showed me on her 13th birthday.
He didn’t really know me. Then he sent limos to her school when the social workers were crawling around – again, unasked – for her and all of her friends.”
Courtney Love – Admits Public Post Was Accidental
Depp is currently mired in a defamation suit with ex-wife and Aquaman actor Amber Heard. The post didn’t remain up long and Love then proceeded to offer “empathy” for Heard while emphasizing that she wasn’t taking sides between Depp and Heard.
The songwriter went on to state that her side of the street needed to stay clean, explaining her post, writing, “I engaged in expressing thoughts online. The platform accidentally posted a story I didn’t want public (I’m sure it was not deliberate) in it I am weaponizing snark (what else do we do with snark?)
Was it my own (granted, massive, a character defect, ego?) Was it a genuine, expression of support for someone whose been a wondrous presence in our lives? Is it ANY OF MY F–KING BUSINESS? No..”

Courtney Love -‘When We Were Wrong, We Promptly Admitted It’
Love went on to explain that she didn’t want to be seen as a bully, or someone who was biased but was, in fact, attempting to offer neutral support for a friend (Depp). She mentioned her recovery from addiction quoting a line from Narcotics Anonymous, writing, “In my program of recovery, ‘when we were wrong, we promptly admitted it’ I was wrong.”
Then Love concluded with a statement against bullying, writing, “The only important takeaway, of what was posted, is that I expressed that we should all stop having ‘fun with schadenfreude’ (look it up: ‘Delight in another’s down fall’ & show sincere empathy for both parties. If I hurt anyone, please accept my amends.”
