Royal Family News: New Book Claims Queen Dissed Meghan Who Stayed Home For Philip’s Funeral

British royal family news shows that Queen Elizabeth is the very picture of decorum: discrete, uncomplaining and gracious. To many royal watchers, Meghan Markle is the flip side of the coin: obvious, whining and ungrateful. How else to describe ranting to Oprah Winfrey’s audience about her in-laws’ cheapness?

Now a new book claims that the long-suffering queen was relieved that Princess Pinocchio failed to show up for Prince Philip’s funeral, held on April 17, 2021. Would anyone blame her if she did hold this sentiment?

The Queen is Discreete

Tom Bower’s new book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between The Windsors, claims that, “the grieving monarch told trusted royal aides on the morning she was due to lay her husband of 73 years to rest at Windsor: ‘Thank goodness Meghan is not coming.’”

The Daily Mail describes Bower as an investigative journalist with biographies of Boris Johnson, Richard Branson and Robert Maxwell under his belt. His latest tome is being excerpted in The Sun and The Times.

The book notes: “In Windsor Castle the Queen was preparing to face the public on one of the saddest days of her life. Philip had been her rock for the previous 70 years. To comply with Covid restrictions she would grieve alone inside the chapel. Thank goodness Meghan is not coming, the monarch said in a clear voice to her trusted aides.”

However, the outlet notes that inside sources call this reaction into question saying her only focus that day would have been on, “her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, on the day of his funeral.’”

Meghan’s husband Prince Harry was in attendance for his late grandfather’s funeral last year while Meghan claimed that being pregnant with her daughter ruled out any flights for her; that was not the case when she flew to NYC from the UK for a reported one million dollar baby shower held in her honor.

It was the first time Harry visited his family following the ugly bombshell interview he and Meghan sat for with Winfrey. In the tell-all they accused his family of cutting off their allowance thus forcing them to abandon the monarchy for a life of “financial freedom” in the US. That was their opening salvo in a one-sided war of words which they have kept up to this day.
