Forget choosing an Elvis Presley impersonator to officiate a wedding. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck decided they wanted someone famous to officiate their upcoming ceremony. And Lopez just happened to know the perfect person, Jay Shetty, reported Page Six.

Famed for his podcasts and celebrity life coaching, Shetty will head to Georgia to officiate Jennifer’s and Ben’s wedding this weekend. Jay has become known for persuading big names to come on his podcast. For instance, Shetty hosted Will Smith on his show, called On Purpose. (However, no word yet as to whether Jay will invite Will to return to discuss that infamous Oscars slap!)

But Lopez and Shetty have developed a very special relationship. And the two reportedly have become close over the last few years. Jennifer even appeared on Jay’s podcast, as did Kobe Bryant and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Jennifer Lopez – Admits To Relationship Struggles

The famous singer has confided in Shetty and his audience in the past about her relationship struggles. For instance, Jennifer recalled heading to therapy in her 30s. And she admitted that she tried to understand what it meant to love yourself. However, looking back, Lopez admits that she failed to recognize the importance of that concept.

“There [was] a lot of talk about loving yourself,” said Jennifer about her therapy sessions. “And I was like ‘I love myself!’ But obviously I was doing all of these things in my personal relationship that didn’t seem like I was loving myself,” admitted the singer. And now she feels as if she continues to struggle with the concept. “But I didn’t even understand the concept of it. I took time and it’s a journey and it’s still a journey for me.”

However, part of that journey now includes Jennifer’s marriage to Ben. And Shetty plans to do what he can to help the two by officiating at their wedding. He definitely possesses plenty of experience.

Jennifer Lopez – Worked With Wedding Officiant For Marry Me

Shetty and Lopez previously worked together to publicize her romantic comedy, Marry Me. As a publicity stunt for that film, Lopez arranged for Shetty to officiate four weddings! The ceremonies took place during a concert.

Shetty shared his happiness at participating with Lopez. As a result of his role, he took to the stage to officiate during the concert. And the celebrity life coach turned to social media to give his insights.

“When Jennifer Lopez asks you to officiate 4 weddings and speak on the power of love during her ‘Marry Me’ Special Performance you say yes,” pointed out Shetty. “What an incredible experience it was. Seeing 4 beautiful couples take their vows and having Jennifer Lopez and Maluma as their wedding singers! Their stories and journeys brought tears to everyone’s eyes,” he added.
