Royal Family News: Prince Charles Got VERY Defensive About His Portrayal On The Crown

Royal Family News: Touchy Prince Charles Got VERY Defensive About His Portrayal On The CrownBritish royal family news reveals that The Crown, a Netflix drama, is a fictionalized account of the royal family. Believe it or not, several members of the current monarchy have acknowledged watching the show, and one of the senior royals has met her on-screen counterpart.

Prince Charles will be the next monarch, following Queen Elizabeth. What does he think of the titillating drama?

Royal Family News: Prince Charles Has Seen The Crown

According to People, Scottish politician Anas Sarwar claims that Prince Charles referred to the Netflix show while introducing himself to Parliament members at an event in 2021. Sarwar spoke recently at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and spilled the dirt.

According to the Daily Mail, Sarwar recalled of Charles, “He came over and went, ‘Hello, nice to meet you all. I’m nowhere near how they portray me on Netflix. I thought that was a really interesting way of how you describe yourself.” It’s also a rather defensive position to take, or perhaps Charles doth protest too much?

Sarwar added, “I’m going to be in so much trouble for this because I don’t think you are meant to tell private conversations!”

Royal Family News – What Does Charles Think Of The Crown?

In seasons 3 and 4 which depicted Prince Charles’ young adulthood, he was portrayed by Josh O’Connor. This included the future king’s romance and wedding to the late Princess Diana. O’Connor was so spot on that he earned an Emmy in 2021 for his work.

The Crown’s final two seasons are on the way, and in them the role of Prince Charles has been given to Dominic West.

Royal Family News – The Crown On Netflix

So, who else among the royals has peeked at the show that portends to portray their lives? Hello! magazine reports that Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter Princess Eugenie as well as her son Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex have watched the program. Vanessa Kirby played Princess Margaret in the show’s first two seasons and she stated that Eugenie confirmed that the Queen herself has seen it.

Meanwhile, Mike Tindall, who is married to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara, has talked about the show. He has mentioned The Crown on his podcast, The Good, The Bad, and the Rugby.

And then there is runaway royal Prince Harry. During his epically comical (in all the wrong ways) appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2021, he said this: “It gives you a rough idea about that lifestyle, and the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, and what can come from that.” Said the man who threw down his tiara and ran away to America to chase the dollar. So much for duty and service from the court jester.
