General Hospital spoilers reveal that Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) is back from the dead, but very few characters know about his return to Port Charles. In an interview, co-head writer Dan O’Connor explained why now was the time for the character to come back.
General Hospital Spoilers – Nikolas Cassadine is Alive
As fans know, Nikolas is alive and just a few select individuals know about it. This means that there are some lies and secrets. In the soap opera universe, things that are hidden are eventually exposed, even if it is years or even decades later. It is suggested that Nikolas’ alive status may be revealed sooner rather than later.
GH Spoilers – The Plan
General Hospital spoilers tease that Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), better known as Jax, has a different idea of how Nikolas should operate. However, for the time being, it is being done Nikolas’ way, but that might come to an end soon. Especially since now there is the added complication of Jax being forced to lie to more people he cares about, such as his teenage daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).
General Hospital Spoilers – Why Now?
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Dan O’Connor explained why Nikolas is returning to Port Charles now.
“…given where Valentin is in his life with Nina Reeves [Cynthia Watros], and with Hayden’s [Barnes, Rebecca Budig] return, it seemed like the appropriate time to bring in the character who connects them both.

GH Spoilers – Booting Valentin Cassadine
GH spoilers indicate that the plan is to dethrone Valentin. Even though Jax is keeping Nikolas being alive a secret for now, the two characters have very different ideas on how this should be done. Jax would rather have the truth be out there.
However, Nikolas believes that it is better that he target Valentin without him even knowing about it. He is confident that staying hidden in the shadows will make the plan a success.
But, could Jax end up revealing the truth? He has definitely reached his limit and it seems that the secret might be exposed soon.

If they had to bring him back it shoul have been done differently. Not only did he let his mother believe he was dead,but he let his son think he is an orphan. Money and power are more important to him than anything/anyone else. Team Valentin I hope Ava teams up with him and Nichlas gets what he deserves.

I’m not a fan of this “new” Nicholas! Does not fit the part!!!
Don’t like the new Nikolas. I know he’s somewhat age appropriate, but he comes off much younger. And a bumbling idiot at that. Big Fail, right out of the gate GH!
It would be nice if the writers remembered that the only reason Valentin was able to take over the Cassidine empire was because Nikolas was supposed to be dead. There was no need for a codicil. If it was for that little criminal in the making, Spencer, benefit if wasn’t necessary because Nikolas is back. So it seems the writers want to do away Valentin. That will be a huge mistake. Neither Nikolas or Jax are the same people everyone remembers. Those writers are trying to figure out if Jax and Nikolas are good guys our bad guys and so far they appear to be bad. They make Valentin look good in comparison. Every move they have them making is for self interest. Their holier than thou actions, with regard to Valentin, are transparent and sickening. Nicholas has been revealed as a murderer and/or would be murderer with his plans for Cassandra. It wasn’t even a tortured decision to kill her by his own hand. As for Jax, he joined this whole ridiculous plan for control of Cassidine shipping which Valentin built up well beyond what Nikkos had built. While Nikolas never did anything to improve the fortune. He was more into the criminal element which his brat son seems to have inherited. I certainly believe if the writers are stupid enough to get rid of Valentin they will regret it.
Not sorry, Finn and Anna are great together! Valentin blew up the boat before treacherous Cassandra could reveal the Nikolas secret. Spencer is not a brat, just wise beyond his years and a sense of entitlement instilled on him by his Father. As much as I like Tyler Christopher, I’ll give the new guy a chance to get a sense of Nikolas and put a bit of himself into the character.
Sorry but you are mistaken. Nicholas being alive or dead has nothing to do with Valentin’s position. Mikkos Cassadine was Valentin’s father, Nicholas’s grandfather. The Cassadine empire passes on to the oldest living son. When Mikkos died, it passed to Nicholas’s father, Starvros. When Starvaros died, it went to Nicholas. Valentin showed up with a copy of the will and proof he was the illigetimate son of Mikkos. Since all the other sons were deceased, he was the oldest living son and the heir. The Codicil is necessary to prove Mikkos changed the stipulation in his will, naming Nicholas the rightful heir.
