Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Thought Monarchy “Needed Her More Than She Needed It”

British royal family news divulges that one royal expert is slamming Meghan Markle for a taking a major ego trip while ensconced in the palace. Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown claims Meghan Markle believed that, “the monarchy likely needed her more than she needed them.”

The royal author came to this conclusion after Meghan and her husband Prince Harry undertook an official royal tour of Australia in 2018, the same year they were married.

Brown stated, “That was something that puzzled the royal household tremendously. Their tour of Australia was a wild success, more successful than Kate and William’s, in terms of crowds and the adulation.” But, Meghan allegedly wanted to be a lone ranger, not a royal rep. “She [Meghan] wanted to be able to talk about the causes that she cared about as her, as opposed to being a representative figure in the monarchy.”

Brown added, “There was a real sense of disappointment when she came home that somehow she was a star beyond, you know, anything one had seen before, except for Diana, really, on this tour.” The late Princess Diana was Harry’s mother and a star in her own right before dying in the aftermath of a Paris car crash in 1997.

The author went on to say, “I guess, it was the star power essentially that she felt now was bigger than what she was allowed to do in the monarchy.” And how has that worked out? Not well, as Meghan seemingly struggles to be a big deal in the US where the Z-lister appears shunned by anyone of importance.

He was “disappointed” however as Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, sisters Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Baroness Jane Fellowes, and friend Julia Samuel failed to see what Harry saw and simply did not equate the People’s Princess with Princess Pinocchio.
