For the second time in a row, Aerosmith had to cancel their residency due to Steven Tyler’s health issue which, for the record is unknown.
The first and recent cancellation was on Friday. Aerosmith made the announcement through their social media, “It is with great disappointment that we are forced to cancel tonight’s show in Las Vegas due to Steven feeling unwell and unable to perform.” Their fans were hurt but they wished the 74-year-old a quick recovery.
In the announcement, Aerosmith assured their fans that Stephen would be around for the Monday’s show. In Aerosmith’s words, Steven “is expected to make a full recovery for Monday night’s Las Vegas show.”
Unfortunately, the group had to cancel their residency again on Monday night. Steven made the post on his social media saying he was told to have more rest by his doctor. “On the advice of my doctor, I’m taking more time to rest,” said Steven. Aerosmith went on to tell their fans, “There is nowhere we’d rather be than on stage surrounded by the greatest fans in the world.”
The cancelled shows were Aerosmith’s Deuces Are Wild residency which was to take place at Park MGM hotel casino in Sin City. Aerosmith currently has two more residency shows left to honor. They’re both scheduled for Dec. 8, and Dec. 11, respectively.
Aerosmith — On Aerosmith’s First Cancelled Residency
About seven months ago, on Tuesday, May 24, to be precise, Aerosmith had to cancel their June/July Las Vegas shows because Steven relapsed and had to go to rehab.
“As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years,” the group said in a statement shared on Instagram. “After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”
While Steven “focuses on his well-being,” revealed the band which includes Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry, and Brad Whitford.
“We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows,” the message continued. “Thank you for your understanding and for your support for Steven during this time.”
Aerosmith — Some of Aerosmith’s Albums
Some of Aerosmith’s hit album songs range from the early 70s and 80s. So far, his 20’s songs are competing with the 80s in greatness. Songs like “Just Push Play” which the group released in 2001. Just Push Play was a top 10 hit in its time even though Joe Perry said the album was an example of how not to make an album.
Another album by Aerosmith is “Music From Another Dimension” which the rocker band released in 2012. This was the first original album made by the group since they released ‘Just Push Play’ in 2001.
