Royals news reveals Kate Middleton was the only one of the “big four” to attend one of the biggest events at Buckingham Palace. On Tuesday, the public had to wonder why Prince William, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not in attendance. It seems all three had good excuses for not there.

According to Cosmopolitan, Prince William was not able to attend the event due to another obligation. He was on a mini-overseas tour at the time. He had a request from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to make an official visit to Kuwait and Oman. He returned from that royal obligation on Wednesday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Family Leave

As for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the couple is actually currently on a leave of absence from their royal duties. The leave, which is for six weeks, is cited as being for family reasons. As everyone knows, Markle only took a five-month maternity leave, so they are using these precious six weeks to spend quality time with their son, Archie.

It is also believed that they are taking this time to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas together, which is split between the UK and the United States. With that being said, it was reported in November that the couple would not be spending the holidays at Sandringham. They were in attendance during the past two years. This time around, they are going to enjoy some time with the duchess’ mother, Doria Ragland.

Out of the big four, Kate Middleton was the only one to attend. She helped Queen Elizabeth welcome world leaders to the NATO event. Some of these included Donald Trump, Justin Trudeau, Boris Johnson and Emmanuel Macron. It is reported that Middleton wore a heavy green dress.
