“I heard rumours when I got here at Corrie that David Neilson’s one red line was that Roy would never have a mobile phone. When we storylined it, I was hiding in case he was going to go mad!” he said.

“In the end he didn’t and he really appreciates the comedy behind it. Obviously to some degree, by the end of the story, normal service is resumed. Roy’s not going to be posting TikTok videos or anything like that,” he added.

“There’s a fun journey to go on about the generational difference between him and Nina.” He continued.

MacLeod also teased what fans can expect from Roy’s storyline. He hinted that some residents of the cobbles will also be involved, including Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman). MacLeod said that he’s loving Roy and Evelyn’s dynamic. They’re similar in age and they have a massive depth of affection toward each other but neither one of them would admit it.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Nina Reeves’s Near-Death Experience

Nina will have a near-death experience in upcoming scenes. Nina will find herself in danger as she tries to look for her uncle Roy, who doesn’t want anything to do with modern technology.

Spoilers hint that Roy, Nina, Brian Packham (Peter Gunn), and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) are scheduled to have a bat group meeting in the woods. However, the group meeting was canceled at the last minute and Roy will be the only one who won’t be informed about the cancellation because he has no mobile phone. Nina tries to look for Roy on the river bank and that’s where she gets into an accident.

Asha and Brian will find an unconscious Nina and they will call for medical assistance. Spoilers hint that Roy will finally buy a smartphone after this incident.
