Austin Butler Says That He Had A Very Strong Connection To Lisa Marie Presley

Hollywood actor Austin Butler, who is getting a lot of rave reviews for his performance in the new Elvis movie, says that he felt a very strong connection to Lisa Marie Presley when he first met her.

During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Austin said that he first met Elvis Presley’s one and only daughter when they screened the film together at Graceland.

Speaking about his immediate bond that he felt with Lisa Marie, Austin said, “I’ve never had an experience where I met somebody and felt an immediate depth of relationship to them. She was a person who didn’t really have anything to prove and wouldn’t open up to everybody, and she just opened up to me, and we got so close so fast.”

Austin also recalled how Lisa Marie showed him Elvis’ slippers in his bedroom at Graceland. The actor says that it was a moment that he will never forget. He recalled, “I got goosebumps.

That was after we screened the film, and his bedroom is a place that most people never get to see, and she said, ‘I want to show you something,’ and she took me up there. We just sat in his bedroom, and up there, he’s not Elvis, he was just dad, you know? So to hear those stories, I truly will treasure that forever.”

Back on January 13th, fans from all over the world were shocked when they heard the news that Lisa Marie was pronounced dead after she was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital.

Her mother Priscilla Presley released a statement about her daughter’s death to People magazine. She wrote at the time, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”
