ABC bought out the pilot for Not Dead Yet, and it’s touted to be a comedy sitcom starring Gina Rodriguez. Well, the second episode dropped and some people don’t think it’s funny at all. However, the ratings reportedly saw it rushing upward. In fact, ABC execs must be rubbing their hand with glee.
ABC – Not Dead Yet Has A Strong Cast
The new show premiered a couple of weeks ago, and people rated it at 6.5/10 on IMDb. With a cast that includes Gina Rodriguez, Hannah Simone, Lauren Ash, Rick Glassman, Joshua Banday, and Angela E. Gibbs, people anticipated some good entertainment. Actually, it’s based on Alexandra Potter’s Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up.
Not Dead Yet got some excellent comments and reactions on Twitter. Viewer, @eugelicious1 said on February 17, “Love this show! So very funny. And the cast! The chemistry is real!”
Meanwhile, @crstfrdrnt wrote, “Let’s talk about that star studded and talented cast! Please keep the good stories coming… I’m loving these stories that feel current and relatable.”
Here is another satisfied viewer, @414Pinky who said, “LOVE this show! Super funny and great cast. Renew ABC!!”
ABC – Not Dead Yet Rockets Up The Ratings
A statement by ABC said that the show is now “ABC’s Most-Watched Multiplatform Comedy Debut in Nearly 4 Years.” Additionally, the info noted that the show got “7.6 million Total Viewers and 1.76 rating in AD18-49 in MP+7.” The last time that those sort of numbers happened on the platform came when Bless This Mess arrived in 2019.
Not Dead Yet still has two more episodes to air at this time. If you haven’t seen it, the synopsis explains that Nell Serrano, played by Gina Rodriguez, moved to the UK. There, the rather “accident-prone” newspaper reporter ended a relationship and decided to go back home. As she hadn’t worked for some years, she found a job that mainly meant “writing obituaries.” Anyway, the dead folks that she writes about started communicating with her and sometimes assist her in writing their own obituaries.
ABC – Where To Watch The ABC Show
Not Dead Yet can be viewed on ABC, Prime Video, Vudu, and Apple TV. Apparently, it’s also available on Hulu. Notably, ABC’s subscription includes season 1.
Folks who watched the first teaser for the show liked what they saw on YouTube. However, rather sarcastically, one person opined, “Well this show will be dead after one season.” Judging by the ratings which soared, that prediction might not come true.
