Vikings: Valhalla season 2 was released on January 12, 2023, on the streaming service. The finale showed Harald reaching the shores of Constantinople. As for Freydis, she gave birth in the fortress of Jomsborg and had a brutal confrontation with Olaf (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson). She managed to trap Olaf’s men and killed him with a spear.

Vikings: Valhalla is set 100 years after the events of Vikings. Jeb Stuart, the writer of The Fugitive and Die Hard, takes over as the creative boss of the Valhalla spin-off, while Michael Hirst continues as an executive producer.

It debuted in the streamer in February 2022. Critics and viewers were pleased, which made Netflix decide to renew it for another season. In November 2019, Netflix ordered 24 episodes for the show. With season 2 released and season 3 currently in production, fans have one more season to continue the stories of Emma, Harald, Leif, Freydis, and the rest of the characters.

Season 2 had eight episodes, and the upcoming third season is expected to have the same number of installments. Given that Netflix ordered 24 episodes, viewers can expect another season to have eight episodes as well. Hopefully, it won’t be the last.
