Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) will have to face the consequences of what she’s done to Hope Stape (Isabelle Flanagan). It will finally be exposed that she slapped the young lass during an argument over peanut, the dog.
After the incident, Hope told Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) that Beth slapped her. However, her parents doubted her claims and Beth denied them when they confronted her about Hope’s allegations. The slap storyline will be revisited when Hope confides in Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan). The latter warns Tyrone immediately about Beth’s lies.
Next week, Fiz and Tyrone will find even some evidence that Hope has been telling the truth. The couple returns home and finds out that Hope skipped school. The latter flinches after Fiz takes a step toward her. Her reaction made them realize that Hope is scared of getting hit again.
Fiz and Tyrone confront Beth about slapping Hope and lying about it. The latter eventually admits her fault and apologizes. She also writes an apology letter for Hope. Meanwhile, Kirk (Andrew Whyment), Beth’s partner, can’t accept the idea that she became violent towards a child.
Beth seeks Maria Connor’s (Samia Longchambon) advice. She thinks Beth just needs to remind him that she’s still a good person despite what happened. So Beth shows her partner some of the mementos to help him recall how good they are together and tells him that she loves him. He appreciates her effort but he’ll ask her to give him some time to think things through.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Boss Talks About Hope And Her Family
Coronation Street writer Ian McLeod opened up about Hope and her family. He said that things will settle down and they will eventually have a more peaceful life.
“She’s certainly not going to continue going down such a troubled path, in the short to medium to long-term,” McLeod said.
“We thought, actually, we’ve done some very dark and twisted things with that character, and okay that’ll still be part of her, but for the next 12 months, we’re going to do normal pre-teen stuff,” he continued.
“We’re going to be building a friendship with her and Sam [Blakeman], that will verge on a very innocent pre-teen romance a little bit and they try to navigate those waters,” he added.
