JK Rowling Is Reportedly Involved In A Planned Harry Potter Series

JK Rowling – long revered for creating the iconic Harry Potter franchise – has recently been caught up in a bit of a controversy for voicing her repeated concerns on transgender women using biological women’s bathrooms and facilities.

While so many would rather the Potter fandom died as a result of this, it seems it is still going strong.

In fact, perhaps a lot stronger, as a planned series based on the book is reportedly a step closer to entering production, and yes JK Rowling is involved.

What We Know (And Don’t Know) About The Planned Harry Potter Series

Who’s excited to get back behind the walls of Hogwarts and experience the magic one more time? I know, for some reason I can’t explain, I am. We said goodbye to the original franchise led by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in 2011 with the release of “The Deathly Hallows 2.”

Since then, the fandom, or Potterheads if you may, have kept the magic alive through incorporating it in their daily lives. From having a wand, to being sorted into houses, to having Harry Potter-themed events and gatherings, to even writing alternate versions of Harry Potter, the fans have truly kept the Harry Potter spirit alive. And it could be rewarded with a series.

Warner Bros. – The Production Company Behind The Original Movies – Is Working To Set Up A “Harry Potter” Television Deal With HBO Max.

While the deal hasn’t been finalized yet (meaning our hopes could still be dashed), it’s been revealed that JK Rowling is involved in the deal as a producer. Psst, she might even be brought on as a scriptwriter for all we know.

At the moment, as can be imagined, information surrounding the planned series is tight. However, Bloomberg reports that each season of the in-the-works series will be based on one of Rowling’s seven Harry Potter books.

The new writers will have a lot of new material to draw from that the original “Harry Potter” writers did not, as there’s a wealth of information in “The Fantastic Beasts,” especially regarding Dumbledore’s past with Grindelwald.

The report states that each season will “delve further into the world of Rowling’s books” by creating extended plotlines.
