Royal Family Fans Shocked At Kate Middleton Breaking Royal Rule!

Kate Middleton stepped out for Easter Sunday services looking gorgeous in a bright blue coat dress. But while the coat dress that Princess Kate wore to Windsor Castle services resembles the rest of her wardrobe, one aspect of her appearance stunned royal family fans. And that concerned the Princess of Wales’ fingernail polish, reported Page Six.

The 41-year-old mom of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis wore bright red nail polish on her fingers. And it marked the first time that Kate did so in public since tying the knot with Prince William in 2011. That choice also stood out because of royal family tradition.

The late Queen Elizabeth II set a rule that females in the royal family should wear only natural-looking, light colors on their nails. For instance, the late Queen preferred Essie’s pale pink Ballet Slippers polish, typically priced at $10. But a few women in the royal family have defied that tradition. For example, Princess Eugenie and the Duchess of Edinburgh have sported more vibrant nail polish colors. But Kate never has done so.

Royal family fans reacted to Princess Kate’s style shift in various ways. And while some preferred Kate’s previous choices of a clear nail polish or nearly nude nail varnish, others cheered for her. For example, one wrote, “My good sis Kate said: ISSA RED NAIL POLISH KINDA DAY and away she went! Lovely.”

And another royal family fan shared, “The QEII era is over! Red nails!” But the fan indicated a hope that Kate would make another change. “Maybe now we’ll see Kate raise her hemlines,” added the royal watcher.

However, some noted the contrast between Meghan Markle and Princess Kate. Meghan received slams for sporting dark nail polish at the 2018 British Fashion Awards. And as one fan of Markle pointed out, “Meghan was slaughtered for ‘breaking protocol’ just for wearing a nail polish that wasn’t pink. Now here is Kate Middleton wearing red nail polish. Will we be told of how bold and daring this is?”

No word yet on if Kate’s bright red nail polish signifies a new trend for Prince William’s wife. But some royal fans hope that Princess Kate continues to set her own style. And it also seems likely that Meghan will no longer face slams for her own manicure choices.
