While a week has gone by since actor Jamie Foxx had a health scare, it seems he is still hospitalized. In fact, the latest report is that doctors are still running tests to determine the cause of his April 11 health scare. Read on to find out what we know so far.
Why is Jamie Foxx still in hospital?
After suffering a health scare on April 11, Jamie Foxx is still hospitalized while his doctors run more tests to try to determine its cause. According to People, Foxx, 55, is undergoing tests at a Georgia medical facility, while doctors are “still trying to figure out what exactly happened.”
The news came out on Wednesday, April 12, when Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, 29, revealed that her father suffered “a medical complication” on the previous day. She wrote in a statement:
We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.
Actor filming with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close
Moreover, it was while filming his new Netflix movie, Back in Action, with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close, that Jamie was taken to hospital. However, he wasn’t taken to the hospital by ambulance and reportedly, the health scare didn’t happen while he was on the set.
Meanwhile, on Friday, April 14, a source told People that Foxx was improving, but was still recovering in the hospital.
Jamie Foxx’s friends and co-stars react
In the meanwhile, Foxx’s friends and costars have been busy releasing statements of their own on social media, while revealing their support. One of these is Kerry Washington, who played Foxx’s on-screen wife in two movies, Ray and Django Unchained, and shared a message on Instagram on April 13. Posting a throwback image of herself and Jamie at an event in Hollywood, she captioned the post, writing, “@iamjamiefoxxappreciation post. Sending you all the love and prayers my movie huzbin.”
As previously reported, Jamie Foxx last year encouraged Cameron Diaz to return to acting after a hiatus. On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, he posted audio of a phone call between himself, Diaz and Tom Brady to announce that the Charlie’s Angels star was getting back into the game. Foxx announced that their new movie, Back In Action, was starting production later that year.
Wishing Jamie Foxx a swift recovery from his health scare and that the actor will be back home soon.
