Since January of 2023, news of the death of Simon Cowell, America’s Got Talent judge, has been making rounds. It blew up after Cowell’s ex-girlfriend of 30 years Sinita Malone shared how she got terrifying messages about Cowell’s death.
In case you’re wondering who Simon Cowell is, and why his death news is viral, Cowell is the founder of X Factor, America’s Got Talent, and Britain’s Got Talent. He’s also a judge in the three talent shows, first on X Factor before the Got Talent franchise.
Cowell is the brain behind the creation of the boy band group “One Direction” which comprises of stars like Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.
Cowell also launched the musical careers of stars like Camilla Cabello, Dua Lipa, Roger Daltrey, etc. He also got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Simon Cowell — Cowell’s Death Prank And Fans’ Reaction
Cowell’s ex-lover, Malone shared the death prank news on Twitter, stating that the received tons of messages pointing to Cowell’s death and it left her terrified.
The British singer said in her January post, “There is a terrible prank that Simon Cowell is dead. It freaked me out last night when people started messaging me.”
She went on to assure everyone that Cowell is very much alive, hale, and hearty. “Simon is NOT dead, people – he’s very much alive and well.” Malone also added, “Thank God I have a sense of humour but you really scared me.”
However, despite clearing the air four months ago, the death rumor persisted. Both fans and critics took to social media to speak about it.
A critic said, “i mean i hate him to but i’d never wish for someone’s death. ever.” While a fan said, “Sadly people start these rumours to cause anguish and upset, and it spirals…. Just horrible.”
Another fan added, “noo but he already died 8 times this year.”
Meanwhile, someone who’s fed up with the incessant celebrity death rumors said, “I don’t know why y’all press when y’all are doing this tictok trend too when death isn’t something to joke about yet y’all do it all the time so hypocritical really.”
