Melody Thomas Scott’s new memoir is now available for pre-order and offers the story of her life.
It was reported last year that Melody Thomas Scott, who plays Nikki Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” was busy writing her memoir. Impatient fans will be thrilled to hear that the memoir, titled “Always Young and Restless” can already be pre-ordered on Amazon ahead of the official release date of August 18, 2020.
Melody Thomas Scott confirms memoir in May 2019
Scott’s publisher, Dr. Uwe Stender of Triada US Literary Agency first broke the news in May 2019. This was followed by the actress tweeting in response, saying the “cat was out of the bag” and that she was excited for all her fans and followers to read about her life.
Melody has acted the role of the Newman matriarch for more than forty years and will no doubt have fascinating facts about the role and her life in the new memoir.
What to expect from ‘Always Young and Restless’
The new memoir is also set to cover her extensive acting career. Scott’s first role was an appearance in the Alfred Hitchcock 1964 film “Marnie.” During the mid-1970s, Melody had a number of minor roles in television and film, which included John Wayne’s 1976 movie, “The Shootist.” Following that, Scott starred in “The Rockford Files” and the popular “Charlie’s Angels.” She then went on to play a recurring role in the family-friendly TV series “The Waltons.”

When she left “The Waltons” at the age of 23, she took the role of Nikki Reed in “The Young and the Restless,” which eventually led to her role as Newman matriarch, Nikki Newman. The actress she took over from had only lasted six months, but Melody transformed the character, which led to her role being important to the soap. 40 years later, a stand-alone episode was aired to honor her time with “The Young and the Restless.” Scott went on to be nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for her performance in the soap.

Since October 12, 1985, Melody has been married to Edward J. Scott. Her husband formerly produced “Days of our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless” and currently produces “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Melody and Edward have two children.
