The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) regrets cheating on Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). But he is still okay with the other choices he has made.

Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) recently returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin, so he could be part of a party that honored his late brother, Neil Winters, Kristoff St. John. Malcolm spoke with Nate, who questioned what Neil would think of some of the changes he made.

Moore’s character asked Nate if he was following his heart. Dominic’s character said that he was. But that did not provide Malcolm with enough details for him to make an informed response.

Nate should be his harshest judge. He knew that allowing himself to become involved with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), even when they were only flirting, was dangerous.

But flirting led to one impulse kiss. However, both people were drinking significant amounts of high-priced alcohol. So, Nate rationalized his behavior as being under the influence.

His next romantic encounter with Victoria included a make-out session that led to the use of her desk in the Newman Enterprises’ executive suite. Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) directed Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to that office, and he interrupted the locked-door proceedings before they went further.

According to The Young and the Restless spoilers, Victoria was determined to get Nate. She disregarded his connection with Elena, believing that the bond was fragile.

Nate’s decision to go with Victoria to a business meeting in Los Angeles, California, was wrong. Because that happened in the recent past, he had to assume, or know, that temptation would be obvious.

Elena learned that Nate lied to her about going to LA alone, flew there, and confronted him and Victoria. Nate admitted what happened, had a drink thrown in his face, and left California regretting yet another choice he made in his own self-interest.

Sarpy’s alter ego gave Nate every benefit of the doubt. She did that because of love. She left the penthouse to maintain her dignity.

Nate squandered the tremendous risk he took to be together. They provoked a wild response from Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), his last name at that point in the plot, and dealt with lingering acrimony.

Devon’s trust, along with that of Nate’s other cousin, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), was lost when he colluded with Victoria to try and gain control of Chancellor-Winters. Now, Nate has violated his vow to be loyal to Elena.

If Malcolm knew what Nate did in recent months, he would understand that honest quests were not being pursued. Malcolm once broke Neil’s trust when cavorting with Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell), who was using heavy medication.

The above encounter led to Lily’s birth. It took a long time for Malcolm to regain Neil and Drucilla’s trust and later to have Lily accept him.

While Nate did not cross the type of line Malcolm did, he is adrift. So, Victoria may be the only person Nate can turn to on Y&R.
