Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that there may be new development between Roy and Evelyn’s relationship. Recently, Evelyn Plummer (played by Maureen Lipman) received letters from Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson).

The two have been friends for a while, but it recently got tested when Evelyn’s dog, Cerberus, died after eating a cake from Roy’s café floor. The cake caused Cerberus to have kidney failure, which eventually killed him.

But it was all good, and the two began being good friends again. It got better when Evelyn attended a salsa class, and she needed a partner. He invited Roy to be her dance partner for the class.

Recently, Roy faced a health scare as he felt a great pain in his chest when he was walking Freddie, his dog, and the dog began chasing a cat. Roy ran after Freddie, but it eventually led to another episode of severe chest pain. Evelyn had to call an ambulance to bring him to the hospital. Evelyn was also the one who pushed Roy to see a specialist.

In a recent interview, Maureen revealed that she doesn’t think that Evelyn and Roy are interested in each other romantically. For their age, she thinks that they just enjoy each other’s company. She thinks that it is a different form of love, and it’s just that Roy and Evelyn understand each other. They both lost loved ones, and they are lonely.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Roy Cropper Gave Evelyn Plummer Some Letters

In recent episodes, it was revealed that Roy is suffering from angina, which is a symptom of coronary artery disease. And now, he needed an operation that happened a lot sooner than expected.

Before he was taken to surgery, Roy gave Evelyn a stack of letters. These letters were for his loved ones. But Evelyn noticed there was also one for her. Roy wrote these letters just in case he didn’t survive the surgery.

Evelyn opened the letter and found out Roy’s true feelings toward her. Evelyn feels the same way, so she heads back to the hospital to tell Roy how she feels. But when she got to the room, Yasmeen was already there beside him with a surprise. Will Evelyn be able to respond to Roy? And will Roy be able to personally tell Evelyn how he truly feels?
