The Young and The Restless spoilers reveal that Chance will invite Sharon on a picnic before she meets with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). However, when Sharon turns Chance down, he quickly finds a replacement inviting Summer to join him. Is Chance keeping Summer waiting around in the wings as a backup?

Chance is a cop and Summer is a suspect. Summer helped her mother while she was on the run and Chance is aware of this. Chance also promised to talk to Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) and try to get the charges against Summer dropped. Chance and Summer have been growing closer for months now. Even Sharon can see that connection.

Chance certainly looked like he was having a good time with Summer when Sharon came to the park. Summer gracefully exited and left Sharon and Chance to their picnic. However, Summer looked longing after Chance before leaving as if she wished she was the one with him instead of Sharon. Chance had wasted no time inviting Summer to take Sharon’s place either.

Is Chance keeping his options open? After all, Sharon and Chance may be having sex but he has been getting closer to Summer as well. Chance wouldn’t just offer to help Summer out of the blue, he obviously doesn’t believe that Summer belongs in jail for helping Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Perhaps he feels she was manipulated.

Sharon saw the interaction between Chance and Summer and it is obvious there is chemistry there. Sharon questioned Chance about Summer but he cut her off in the park. Of course, Chance did all the right things, even hand-feeding Sharon followed by a kiss. Didn’t Chance try that with Summer right before Sharon arrived?
