Miley Cyrus recently explained the reason she won’t be going on massive tours again and there’s a lot to unpack regarding her needs and the way performing in front of a large crowd makes her feel.

Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve officially entered a new Miley Cyrus era, and while it may not sit well with us, it’s the best time for her to be in so far.

Miley Cyrus – Says Performing Isn’t Healthy For Her In New TikTok Video

A few weeks back, Cyrus broke the news that she’s done and dusted as long as touring was involved.

She did say that she means to keep performing at festivals and other shows close to home, but extensive tours is something she won’t be doing again.

In her “Used To Be Young” TikTok interview series, the songstress opened up about how much the road and touring life has worn her down.

“What people don’t really understand about touring is the show is only 90 minutes, but that’s your life,” Cyrus, 30, said in a TikTok video shared on Sunday.

“If you’re performing at a certain level of intensity and excellence, there should be an equal amount of recovery and rest.”

She added, “There’s a level of ego that has to play a part, that I feel gets overused when I’m on tour and once that switches on, it’s hard to turn it off.

And I think when you’re training your ego every single night to be active, that’s the hardest switch for me to turn off.”

“Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn’t healthy for me, because it erases my humanity and my connection and without my humanity [and] my connection I can’t be a songwriter, which is my priority,” she concluded.

This year has been a massive one for Cyrus, with the smashing success of her “Endless Summer Vacation’s” lead single “Flowers.”

However, even though fans may not get to see her perform any time soon or as often as they would have liked, she did clarify that her fans continue to play a huge part in her decisions.

“For clarity I feel connected to my fans NOW more than ever. When I win, WE win,” Cyrus wrote in a statement shared on Twitter.

“Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart.”
