Hallmark Star Andrew Walker Shares Sweet ‘Highlight’ Of Filming A Safari Romance In South Africa

Hallmark stars Andrew Walker and Brit Bristow filmed the movie A Safari Romance in South Africa and have a heartwarming story to tell.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Walker opened up about the “highlight” of filming the movie in South Africa and it wasn’t just about the wildlife.

It turns out that renovated a school that was a film set for the movie while helping out the locals.

From images shared on Andrew Walker and Brit Bristow’s Instagram pages, it is clear the two actors thoroughly enjoyed filming A Safari Romance in South Africa.

However, it wasn’t just about the wonderful wildlife they got to see on set.

In a video shared on Instagram, Walker, 44, shared the best part of filming in the African bush. He said the “highlight” of shooting the Hallmark movie was giving back to the country.

He explained that they helped to renovate a school that was used as part of their film set for A Safari Romance.

Andrew recently shared the short video, which reveals co-star Brit Bristow and a number of their peers painting the interior and exterior of a building.

They also laid some bricks outside as they came together to renovate a local school.

Highlight of filming A Safari Romance

Walker captioned the video (which can be seen here) writing:

The one story I haven’t shared yet… @britbristow @leifbristow @agnes.bristow and a team of other crew members rehabilitated the school we shot one of the scenes at.

We weren’t able to see the kids’ faces when they showed up to a new classroom, freshly painted exterior, new park, new soccer balls, and a new brick patio, Monday morning… but I’m sure it was sweet!!

Meanwhile, he added that he was able to rope in his sister, JenniMay and his father, Bruce to assist in the work, adding:

Putting my sis and pops to work day 1 after 20 hrs of travel was also a highlight. Thanks for initiating this Leif & Agnes Bristow, this is what makes you two who you are. ❤

Keeping fans up to date with filming the movie

In the last couple of months, Walker has been sharing moments of filming in South Africa, including a clip of him making friends with elephants.

The video showed him petting the elephant from several angles while writing, “Looking into his eyes you could see his kindness,” adding, “I’ve always appreciated elephants but this experience really took it to a whole new level. Love that I got to have my dad and sis with me.”

Meanwhile, the Hallmark actor noted that tens of thousands of African elephants are poached each year. He encouraged his fans to find out about the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

The movie A Safari Romance premiered on Hallmark Channel on August 12 and is the latest of his many movies for the network.

Fans have previously seen in the comedy Three Wise Men and a Baby, as well as The 27-Hour Day and Sweet Autumn.
