Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Original Script Changed For Victor’s Memorial & Reason Why Ciara Wasn’t There, DOOL Writer Explains

Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers hint that while Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) memorial is over, the aftermath of his legacy continues on. There were plenty of returns for the iconic soap character’s fond farewell, but one that was missing was Ciara Weston, played by actress Victoria Konefal. Why wasn’t she there? A DOOL writer offered some insight on X.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Chelsea Brady’s Eulogy Was Meant For Her Younger Sister

One surprising return was Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin) who hadn’t been seen in Salem since 2009. One fan on the X platform was quick to point out that Chelsea’s speech about her dad Bo Brady’s (Peter Reckell) struggles between his Kiriakis and Brady roots happened before she was around.

Days writer, Jamey Giddens, intervened to explain that the eulogy had originally been written for Ciara. He goes on to note that Ms. Konefal had scheduling conflicts and couldn’t attend Victor’s funeral. Melvin was swapped in, and a few “quick” changes were made.

Days Spoilers – Cin & Alex Kiriakis Cheekiness – Altered Script

Giddens also states that the reason Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) started the show was meant to be a nod to “Cin”, as Ciara was set to “meet” her cousin Alex, who also happens to be played by the man who stole Ciara’s heart, Ben Weston.

The Days writer also notes in another X “tweet” that in the original script that included Ciara, Theresa Donovan (Jenn Lilley) was going to tear into Ciara about Ben killing her niece, which would’ve had Ms. Weston coming to her hubby’s defense, stating that he wasn’t “that person anymore”, as a glance was supposed to be exchanged between Alex and Ciara.

Jamey ends by tweeting that he thought Rachel did a “phenomenal” job, also noting that while there “should’ve” been more people in attendance, there are only about 12 characters allowed per show and minimal amounts on set.
