There’s been several articles – published within days of each other – purporting that Jason Aldean couldn’t withstand the heat of Whoopi Goldberg‘s grilling and stumped off stage. But really, is there truth in any of the claims?
News Claiming Jason Aldean Called Whoopi Goldberg “Toxic” Are Fake!
Okay, let’s address the news currently circulating online that country music singer called “Sisters Act” star a “toxic” woman, before walking away amid a heated debate. However, this actually bears no truth to reality.
The websites falsely reported: “Hold your horses, ladies and gentlemen! We have just witnessed the shortest debate in the history of ‘The View’! And no, it didn’t end because both sides managed to come to a mutual understanding.
Instead, country music star Jason Aldean decided he had better ways to spend his time than engaging in a war of words with co-host Whoopi Goldberg. Just ten minutes into the debate, he called Goldberg “toxic” and promptly exited the stage. Now, that’s a mic drop moment!”
On top of this, there is no evidence that Aldean has actually ever appeared on The View. Even though Aldean hasn’t been on the show, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been discussed on it.
In fact this year, the ladies of The View grilled Aldean because of his controversial music video for his chart-topping single, “Try That in a Small Town,” which used footage of actual protests.
Speaking on the song and its accompanying music video, Aldean said, “He talks about life in a small town, and it’s different, and he chose these images. He’s got folks from the Black Lives Matter movement, and he’s talking about people taking care of each other, and I find it so interesting that it never occurred to Jason or the writers that that’s what these folks were doing: They were taking care of the people in their town because they didn’t like what they saw.”
She added, “Just like you talk about people taking care of each other in small towns, we do the same thing in big towns. You just have to realize that when you make it about Black Lives Matter, people kind of say, ‘Well, are you talking about Black people? What are you talking about here?'”
While Alyssa Farah suggested they give Aldean benefit of the doubt, Joy Behar and Sunny Horstin called him and his sensitive song “deplorable” and “annoying.”
