Royal family insiders have revealed that the Palace has begun to panic. And the anxiety comes from King Charles’ rumored five-year plan.
Find out about a new report claiming that an exhausted King Charles secretly wants to follow through with a new approach to the throne. And keep reading to learn what that would mean for his oldest son Prince William.
King Charles Develops Five-Year Plan
Royal family insiders claim that King Charles could step down from the throne. And that possibility has sparked panic in the Palace.
But if Charles does exit his role early, it would be a dramatic contrast with Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled for a historic 70 years, noted New Idea.
However, Queen Elizabeth’s heir, King Charles III, has experienced an exhausting few months recently. As a result, he reportedly has considered stepping down and taking a lengthy break amid the holidays. And ideally, that hiatus will give the King time to relax and recuperate.
But rumors have grown that King Charles has considered surrendering the throne permanently in a five-year abdication plan. And an insider revealed, “Charles is feeling the toll from these back-to-back tours and events. And he’s got to take care of himself,” added the source.
King Charles Sets Date To Abdicate?
However, the holidays will give King Charles and Queen Camilla the chance to get some rest. And at 75, Charles may secretly already have decided to abdicate at age 80, claims royal author Clive Irving.
“I think Charles feels it’s his duty to serve, having waited so long, but he also knows he is the oldest person ever to have been coronated,” said Irving. “I think the deal has been done that when Charles is 80, he will quit and hand over. He knows that Prince William is a much more appropriate face for the monarchy than he is.”
And the holidays will give the Prince of Wales, 41, a chance to practice as leader of the royal family. King Charles reportedly feels reassured at putting his oldest son and Kate Middleton in charge. But insiders shared that Charles does want to make sure to prepare William to take over the throne in five years.
And King Charles “has every intention of putting Wills to the test with the odd ‘take-the-reins’ practice drill in the lead-up to his formal retirement five years from now,” said the source.
“And there couldn’t be a better time than over the New Year’s period. He’s instructed his advisers to coordinate with William and Kate to step up so the King can have an extended, but much-needed, break.”
