Iris Caldwell and Keith Manley got married during March 2019. While Iris wanted to continue her marriage to Keith during season 9, when it came to Decision Day, Keith wanted out. In fact, he wanted to immediately proceed with a divorce.

However, during a recent Q&A session with her followers, Iris has been posting a series of Instagram Stories by video. One fan asked Caldwell if she is now officially divorced from Manley. Iris’ response was negative. She wrote they have to wait for a year before she can officially file divorce papers.

It turns out the state of North Carolina requires that a couple has to have a one-year separation period before they can file the no-fault type divorce Iris and Keith are seeking. This means the couple has to be living apart and in separate residences for a full year before the divorce can go ahead.

Another fan asked Iris whether Keith’s mother was responsible for how he had treated her, leading to the relationship going sour. Iris completely dodged that question by saying they were all funny and she wasn’t answering that question. Other followers asked if Iris has been in contact with Keith, to which she repeatedly said the word “no.”

Iris last saw Keith during the reunion special on Married at First Sight. The reunion had featured all four couples from season 9, two months after “Decision Day.” The show was set to provide updates on the couples’ relationships. This reunion was aired in September 2019 on Lifetime.

Many viewers were shocked when Keith had decided to file for divorce, as the couple appeared to have a healthy relationship during season 9. During the 8-week marriage, Iris and Keith rarely fought. They both appeared to support each other in difficult times, especially when Keith’s beloved grandmother passed away.

Due to their closeness during that period, Iris admits she was finding it hard to move on from the marriage. However, she has now revealed on Instagram how much she has grown from the experience of a failed relationship.

Keith had explained his wish to divorce Iris on Married at First Sight, saying it was due to her lack of emotional maturity and her lack of sexual experience. Iris believed Keith had an issue over the fact she was still a virgin. When Iris was asked if having sex with Keith might have changed the outcome, she replied honestly, saying “no.” She explained that if someone doesn’t want to be married, nothing is going to change that.

During the reunion special, the subject of reconciliation for Iris and Keith came up. Iris admitted she would be willing to give him a second chance if he was prepared to go to marriage counseling. However, Keith said no, there was likely no chance of them getting back together.

Keith admitted at the time that he wasn’t really ready to be married and that, at the time, Iris wasn’t ready for it either. Iris now admits that she doesn’t regret anything that happened, saying she felt it happened for a reason. She said it is all about learning lessons.
