Meghan Markle begins 2024 desperately seeking publicity. And in a sign of just how far the Duchess of Sussex will go, she reportedly paid her PR team to spread the news about her adoption of a (wait for it) chicken. 

But given that Meghan ended 2023 with boasting about huge, fabulous projects that she would unveil this year, headlines about the Duchess adopting a chicken sounded like a satire.

However, as revealed below, it’s true. And Meghan also managed to strengthen her friendship with Ellen DeGeneres by adopting this allegedly “bullied” bird from the talk show host.

What do you get when you add up a Duchess desperate for publicity plus a talk show host with an unwanted chicken? Simple math reveals that Meghan Markle would eagerly reach out to Ellen DeGeneres to give the bird a new home.

And the publicity-hungry Duchess of Sussex got her PR team to spread the word far and wide about how she adopted one of Ellen’s chickens. The chosen chick’s name is Sinkie the chicken, per the Daily Mail, which reported that Prince Harry agreed to the adoption.

And Prince Harry and Meghan both seemingly want to boast about their kindness, generosity and compassion by publicizing their adoption of an unwanted chicken. Ellen shared that the bird lived in her sink because it hurt its leg. And the other chickens bullied Sinkie the chicken.

Prince Harry Hopes To Befriend Ellen DeGeneres

Because Meghan and Harry want celebrity friends, adopting one of Ellen’s chickens seems like a smart move. The talk show host shared on social media that Sinkie the chicken did recover after hurting her leg. “Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her so she had to be re-homed,” wrote Ellen on social media.

However, in a note that surely thrilled Harry and Meghan, the talk show host mentioned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on her Instagram. And Ellen wrote, “Luckily our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more. Not sure yet what her royal title will be.”

And thus far, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex haven’t told Ellen what royal title Sinkie the chicken deserves. Somehow, Princess Sinkie doesn’t sound very royal. Perhaps Duchess Birdie might fly better?

However, Ellen actually lives close enough to Harry and Meghan for her to visit her former chicken. And the trio all live in the celebrity enclave, Montecito. But the Duchess and Duke of Sussex also reportedly have become friends with Ellen’s wife Portia de Rossi.

And rumors indicate that Harry and Meghan attended the ceremony when Ellen renewed her vows with wife Portia. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan reportedly continue to expand their chicken coop. And depending on how much publicity they receive for adopting Ellen’s bird, it could turn into their new project for 2024.
