Meghan Markle made it clear that she feels the British attitude toward hugs involves one of stand-offish rejection.

And in her Netflix documentary series, the Duchess of Sussex targeted Kate Middleton as rejecting Meghan’s hugs. But now a new video has gone viral for how it shows Princess Kate warmly receiving and giving hugs via Newsweek.

And the clip reveals the Princess of Wales displaying affection amid multiple royal events. As a result, the video challenges Meghan’s views that the cold British people view hugs as “jarring.” And in her documentary series, Meghan recalled meeting Kate while dating Prince Harry.

“Even when Will and Kate came over and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner,” recalled the Duchess of Sussex. “And I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. It’s like I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.”

Meghan Markle Claims Royals Act Too Formal

And the documentary series featured a clip of Kate and William. But to accompany that clip, Meghan claimed that the royal family’s “formality on the outside carried through to the inside. And that was surprising to me.”

However, what surprised royal family followers who viewed a new TikTok video involved how it contradicted Meghan’s claims. And the video showed the contrast between Meghan’s Netflix allegations and Kate’s hugs.

For instance, one clip reveals Princess Kate hugging a man who visited her and Prince William amid a visit to southwest England. And Kate recognized the man as her school teacher from her younger years. But after hugging him, the princess showed her warmth by gushing, “Hello! I do recognize you. My gosh, that’s a long time back… I remember exactly the classroom and everything.”

And another clip revealed Kate’s delight in hugging a midwife amid a visit to the Royal College of Obstetricians in London, England. Other footage showed similar examples of how the princess warmly greets people. And many commentators praised Kate for behaving like, as one fan wrote, “a queen in every sense of the word.” Another noted, “Catherine Princess of Wales is full of kindness and compassion.”

Rumors about a feud between Meghan and Kate have swirled for years. However, the Princess of Wales has followed Buckingham Palace’s rule about how to handle Meghan’s and Prince Harry’s slams against the royal family. And that involves a simple “no comment” rather than a public response to any and all allegations.
