Hallmark News: The Way Home Season 2 Builds On Time-Traveling Twist

The Hallmark Channel news and updates reveal the second season of The Way Home just began. And it starts with a premiere episode that features the return of stars Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh.

Season two of The Way Home features the return of Hallmark Channel stars Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh. And the two portray a mother and a daughter who have become estranged. But rebuilding their family bond becomes more challenging after the loss of a son and a brother, per the Daily Post.

However, for impatient fans, good news. Because of special waivers from the Screen Actors Guild, The Way Home started filming season two in August despite the Hollywood actors’ strike. As a result, the second season premieres earlier than expected.

The Way Home became a hit for the Hallmark Channel in 2023. And season one concluded with a cliffhanger for Kat (Chyler Leigh) and Del (Andie McDowell). But reflecting on the experience starring in the supernatural family drama, Sadie Laflamme-Snow (Alice) said via Yahoo that the show continues where that cliffhanger ended.

And Sadie reflected, “I think it’s pretty impressive that we pick up right where we left off in season 1, so we get to follow that moment through. It’s not like ’10 months later’ and we just forget that that ever happened.

We get that we left the audience in that kind of emotional place, and so I think to be able to give that a try is really exciting because people want the pay off of what they went through at the end of that season. Everything is building up to this moment,” added The Way Home actress. 

And that debut episode for season two is titled “The Space Between.” The time-traveling family drama returns with Kat (Leigh) achieving an epiphany. And she thinks she now knows where and when her brother went. But will anyone believe Kat’s theory about what caused her brother to vanish so many years ago?

However, Kat still feels thrilled at thinking she knows when and where her brother disappeared to after he went missing. And so Kat relays her theory to Del (MacDowell) about Jacob (Remy Smith).

The Way Home Spoilers – A New Mystery Begins

But Del doesn’t seem to buy Kat’s theories. And then comes the lure of the pond. A seven-month break in time travel apparently makes the call of the pond even more compelling for Kat and her daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow).

And another time-traveling twist occurs, with Alice and Kat taking different journeys from the past. Meanwhile, in the wake of his departure from Port Haven, Elliot (Evan Williams) comes back from traveling. However, what does his return mean for his relationships with Alice and Kat?

And the passing of the town’s oldest resident, Evelyn Goodwin, who belonged to the town’s founding family, causes some hard memories for Del and Kat. However, a new mystery begins in what Evelyn leaves in her estate. The Way Home Season two premiered on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel. And the family drama, complete with those time-traveling twists, can be streamed the next day on Hallmark Movies Now.
