The “Dj Got Us Falling In Love” singer Usher headlined 2024 Super Bowl LVIII, and broke the Internet with his performance with special guests Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., will.i.am, Lil Jon, and Ludacris.
However, despite his great performance with this amazing team, fans had their eyes out for his collaboration with Justin Bieber but were super disappointed when it didn’t happen.
Their disappointment came because it was already rumored months back that the two would team up to perform their 2010 song “Somebody To Love.”
As things didn’t work out as expected, they took to the X platform formerly known as Twitter to express their disappointment for having anticipated seeing the duo perform in vain.
Someone asked, “That’s it? Usher’s done? Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift are not coming out?” Another prayed, “God, please make Usher bring out Justin,”
A third sarcastically wrote, “On my way to pick Justin Bieber up so he can sing with Usher,” the fourth commenter ranted, “It’s time for Justin to do his own Super Bowl,” and the fifth person chimed, “Me still waiting for Justin Bieber to come out even though the performance is over.”
Justin Bieber — How Justin Responded To The Outbursts
Taking to social media, the “Sorry” singer, 29, shared a picture of the “Yeah” singer, 45, from his Halftime performance, and professed his love to Usher. His words were enough to silence the noise his absence on stage brought. The post which he captioned, “Love you, my brother,” reads, “No one can sing and dance the way you do.”
His post continued, “Love you from the depths of my heart. Brought the ‘A’ to the world. Only you, baby.” Although Justin didn’t get to perform at the Super Bowl, he attended the show with his wife Hailey Bieber, 27.
Justin and Usher’s friendship dates as far back as 2008 when Justin was at the peak of his career and was around 13 years old then.
When the two met, they clicked immediately, with Usher telling “The New York Times” in 2009, “His voice was magical and his personality was so keen. He just knew how to be.” The two would later collaborate to sing “Somebody To Love” which became a hit after its release in 2010.
