Ever since “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Station 19” first hit our screens in 2018, it’s been from one beautiful emotional roller coaster season to another. It garnered its own fans with the beautiful portrayal of every character to the extent that when ABC announced that its seventh installment would be its last season, fans of the show rallied to beg, sign petitions, and even campaigned for it to be continued by ABC or picked up by another platform.
Viewers have sat all through six seasons of “Station 19” which featured Jaina Lee Ortiz, as Captain Andy Herrera, the daughter of Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval). They got to watch the casts show teamwork in the field while saving lives from fire outbreaks, fight together, cry together, and dine together.
Through it all, some characters who started off as bland but gradually turned into fan favorites were lost. Characters like Officer Ryan Tanner (Alberto Frezza) who was Andy’s first love interest, Captain Lucas Ripley (Brett Tucker) who became Lieutenant Victoria Hughes’ (Barrett Doss) fiance, and Dean Miller (Okieriete Onaodowan) who lost his life after saving Victoria the lady he loves from an electrocution. The show kept giving its fans and viewers something to look forward to in each season.
Station 19 — ‘Station 19’ Will Soon Hit A Milestone
Recently, Jaina Lee Ortiz told “TV Insider” in an exclusive interview that “Station 19” season 7 will feature some “crazy crossovers” from its predecessor “Grey’s Anatomy.”
The actress said, “There’s going to be a crazy crossover towards the end. I have a feeling there’s going to be a major crossover towards the end of the season. And this character has never visited Grey’s Anatomy in this way.”
It’s not like it’s the first time characters have crossed over to both shows, it’s just that whenever they do, it’s always huge. Either for love, or something tragic might occur.
As Ortiz didn’t spill more information about the crossover characters, she however dropped some comments about ‘Station 19’ reaching 100 episodes soon.
“Reaching 100 episodes is something that’s very rare in this industry, and the fact that I get to be a part of this accomplishment through Shondaland and through the world of Grey’s Anatomy is a major honor, and I feel so grateful and fortunate to have shared it with this cast and this crew,” says Ortiz. “We are truly going to miss each other. I think everyone’s going to be bawling when we shoot the last episode because of how much we love each other.”
