Kate Middleton is being treated like an enemy of the state, or in this case, an enemy of the royal family. That’s because the British press just can’t forgive her for her Mother’s Day photoshop fail.

In fact, the bullying from the press has gotten so bad that some royal experts are now being forced to defend the Princess of Wales in a scandal that certainly shouldn’t be a scandal. Here’s what you need to know.

One member of the royal rota, Victoria Arbiter, even put it this way on X (formerly Twitter), “The hysteria surrounding the Mother’s Day image released by the Prince and Princess of Wales has reached levels that can only be described as insane. She’s being treated like someone who sold state secrets.”

She then added, “She owned the mistake and she apologized for it. It’s time to move on.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for both royal fans and critics alike to say something about the matter.

Many of them took to social media to write, “It all comes down to transparency. The Waleses and their KP team have a history of lying, so they pretty much dug this hole for themselves,” along with, “If this is mere hysteria, then why has CNN said that they are now examining all other photographs that have been issued by the royals? Perhaps because this isn’t the nothing many would like it to be.”

Royal Family News: Kate Middleton Has Had Enough Of The Drama

Another critic wrote, “It’s hard because people are making money on post that spread disinformation. This has to be the largest target harassment on one person in history. I don’t know why this has to be headline news. It doesn’t make sense.”

So far Buckingham Palace has made no additional comments about the matter.
