General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) hasn’t been the same since he returned from Pentonville and loved ones have seen an “edgier” side to him.

This explains his relentless need to bring Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) down, and why he abruptly broke things off with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright Hints At Carly’s New Life).
Still, with everything else that has happened around him, could he decide to shift his revenge plans off Nina, and refocus them on Carly?
The Enemy Of My Enemy Is My Friend
GH spoilers suggest that Drew and Carly aren’t exactly enemies, even as exes. Drew broke things off because he didn’t want to compete with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and couldn’t stand the thought of becoming second fiddle in Carly’s life, next to his twin.
Still, this all happened out of nowhere, without giving their romance a chance, with Jason being the elephant in the room. Was this a test for Carly?
She didn’t exactly disagree with him when he stated that Jason would likely come first now that he’s back; Carly didn’t exactly “fight him” on the break-up.
Add in the fact that Drew has abandonment issues from the last time that Jason popped back up into PC (after all, CarSon literally dropped him without a bat of an eyelash and went running to Jason – leaving their friendship with Drew in the dust), and Cain might be “testing” Carly to see if he ever meant anything to her.
She won’t come running, like the last time, and this will only cause Drew to pent-up resentment, which could turn to revenge.
Plot Twist! Drew Softens All Together
GH spoilers imply that Drew will have an encounter with Nina. He doesn’t have an editor and chief for Crimson because Carly quit, and now that they are exes, there’s no way she’s coming back.
Could Drew offer Nina her old job back? Would she even take it? Perhaps if he adds in the fact that he wants to “stick it” to Carly, she may.
Then again, he may extend an olive branch. Maybe stepping away from his relationship with Carly will give Drew some clarity; not only over the entire SEC scandal, but Nina’s perspective on this when it came to Carly, and perhaps why she did what she did.
Maybe he’ll even seek therapy in the interim and slowly become the version of Drew fans came to know and love.

The Drew/Sam and Drew/Carly story lines never should have been penned, especially if the door were left open for a Jason return. No man would be able to have a brother like relationship with a man that had been with both of his exes, not even in a soap world, it is just not a situation that can be over looked. Of course the situation with both pairings are super soapy, but reality has to enter this situation and it has. Wouldn’t even be surprised if writers would rethink Sam’s connection to Drew and it is revealed that Scout is Jason’s child. How I don’t have the slightest idea, but in a soap world who knows if Sam/Jason didn’t get together off screen. There are so many wrongs that could be righted and it will be interesting to see just what will occur.
