Another World Alum Linda Dano Reveals The Deep Bonds Still Felt In Bay City

While Another World (AW) has been off the air since 1999, but most fans would agree that the storylines, characters, and legacy of the soap remain in the hearts of many.

As it turns out, the bonds created on the show continue to flourish and only grow closer. Soap Opera Digest (SOD) recently caught up with AW alum and Daytime Emmy winner, actress Linda Dano as she offers an update for longtime viewers of the show.

Another World – Bay City Gone, But Not Forgotten

The cancelled daytime drama recently celebrated the 60th anniversary for AW’s debut this past May 4, 2024. SOD chatted with Dano, who played the iconic Felicia Gallant, where Linda revealed that the Another World cast still gets together annually, to catch up.

According to Dano, “There’s a whole gang of us that get together. I have a huge party every year at my home in Connecticut, and a lot of them come and we laugh, and we talk about the old days. We share stories and remembrances.”

She goes on to note, “I have a party every year. They show up and they come from all over. It’s really amazing. In the world of television, whatever. I mean, who does that really?”

Another World – Linda Dano’s Daytime Emmy Win

Dano played Gallant on AW from 1983 right up until the soap was cancelled in 1999. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series a total of four times, snagging the statue in 1993.

Dano tells SOD that leading up to the 1993 Daytime Emmy win, “Everyone said I was going to win. That was the running thing that went through the whole studio. You’re going to win this, Linda, you’re going to win it. I said, no, I’m not. You just stop, stop, stop. It is not going to happen. It just doesn’t happen like that.”

With that being said, she did, in fact, win, and she notes in her SOD interview that, “When it happened, I was as surprised as anybody could be. I literally didn’t expect it.”
