Shania Twain Made This Shocking Claim About Harry Styles

Every generation needs a heartthrob; a singer or an actor with enough pizzazz to thrill audiences just with their looks. And Shania Twain has just discovered the new Elvis Presley and he was a member of one of the hottest boy bands. Can you guess who it is? Surprisingly, it’s not Liam Payne.

When it comes to singing about love, Twain’s your girl. During her The Times interview published on Sunday, June 23, the 58-year-old country superstar reflected on one of her hit songs, ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much.’ In the song she sings, “OK, so you’re Brad Pitt. That don’t impress me much.”

However, these days, she prefers to replace the “Ocean’s Eleven” star Brad Pitt’s shout-out on the song with former one direction band member and “As It Was” hitmaker, Harry Styles.

Perhaps it’s not so surprising that she considers Harry Styles “the new Elvis Presley” since they’re both big fans of each other’s creativity.

In 2017, Styles straight up named Shania Twain as his biggest musical influence – no wonder, I did think one of his red stage onesies reminded me of Shania Twain’s looks back in the day.

Responding to this at the time, Twain revealed that she took it as “a huge compliment,” adding, “Because I wasn’t recording for so long, I didn’t really realize the effect that the music was having on, like, little kids… the next generation.”

Twain continue: “So here they are, voicing it now that they’re in their own adult life… it’s wicked. I’m, like, over the moon about it.”

But this isn’t the only time that Styles has paid tribute to the “Man, I Feel Like A Woman” hitmaker, as he also once performed one of her most popularly known songs “You’re Still the One” with country artist Kacey Musgraves. In a true circle moment, Styles and Twain duetted at 2022 Coachella.

Shania Twain – On How “Risky” It May Be For Upcoming Female Performers To Grow Their Craft

During her The Times interview, Twain also touched on the need for the industry to better represent women.

“Some bars in Canada had a room for live music and another for strip shows — not a lot of girls are attracted to that,” she added while talking about the risk such venues could pose for young women. “That scene is more intimidating for a girl because men are drunk and boundaries get blurry. How can you attract women to that? How do they feel safe and stay protected?”
