British royal family news shows that not all sirs are polished and polite. Sir Ian McKellen is making waves for saying that he’s on Harry, the Douche of Sussex’s side after the late Queen Elizabeth was “rude to him.” According to the elderly actor, each time he met with the queen her manners were lacking. The Lord Of The Rings actor is literally the main character here.
Ian McKellen Slams the Queen
The 85-year-old British actor was “knighted for services to the performing arts in 1991 and had met the Queen at least once when she personally appointed him Companion of Honour (CH) for his services to drama and to equality in 2008.”
Showing his own lack of manners, the legendary actor called the beloved monarch “quite mad at the end.” Paddington Bear disagrees.
McKellen told The Times “on the few occasions I met her she was quite rude. When I received a medal for acting (the Companion of Honour in 2008), she said, ‘You’ve been doing this for an awfully long time.” Which is factually correct so we’re not sure why he thinks that was a diss. As the saying goes, growing old is a privilege.
Royal Family News – Ian McKellen Unimpressed By The Queen
Maybe McKellen was drinking that night because he responded to the monarch by saying “Well, not as long as you.” Clearly sensing some shade, the witty queen replied “Does anyone still actually go to the theatre?”
Instead of appreciating the snappy comeback, McKellen was incensed: “That’s bloody rude when you’re giving someone a medal for acting. It meant, ‘Does anyone care a f*** about you because I don’t. Now off you go!’” But wait, there’s more!

McKellen claims that the queen then “shoved him away as he offered his hand … That was her handshake and it meant, ‘Go! Go!’”
Showing where his loyalty lays McKellen hissed “I’m most definitely on Harry’s side.”
“Imagine being born into the royal family. I’ve been in public life a bit, but these people are in prison. They can’t do anything normal. Can you imagine having to be nice to everyone you talk to?” Like mad dogs and Englishmen?
