General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that fans are still reeling from Adam J. Harrington’s exit as John “Jagger” Cates. Viewers were completely caught off guard when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) shot the FBI agent not once but twice during the Friday, August 30th episode.
The actor recently chatted with Michael Fairman on his YouTube channel about his GH experience, whether or not he was surprised with John’s exit, and also spoke about the project he worked on with the late Billy Miller (GH’s ex-Drew Quartermaine).
General Hospital Spoilers – Adam J. Harrington Wasn’t Shocked About John Cates’ Exit
GH spoilers reveal that while fans were shocked about John’s shooting, Harrington wasn’t. He notes that with the writer’s team shake-ups that occurred at the beginning of the year (multiple times over), he realized that after the first writing team change, everything was “up in the air” as far as his character was concerned.
As the show shoots things out of order, Adam’s last scene filmed wasn’t the one where he got shot. Harrington reveals that while his last day was a Friday, the Sonny/John showdown was filmed on a Wednesday, with Cates lying dead in a pool of blood (with rain going up Harrington’s nose, appartently) on Thursday.
While not surprised by the demise of John and his exit, Adam states that he’s “gonna miss” everybody at GH.
He also states in the Fairman interview that he could see the “writing on the wall” as John went to extreme lengths in his vendetta against Sonny, noting, “You bring in an FBI agent, two things are gonna happen: People are gonna go to jail or he disappears.”
Harrington offered a ton of praise for his GH colleagues noting how great it was to work with Benard, Maura West (Ava Jerome), and Finola Hughes (Anna Devane).
GH Spoilers – Adam J. Harrington Pays Tribute To Billy Miller
During the chat, he also talked about his prime-time work and a project he was in that involved Billy Miller.
The two worked together on Major Crimes, and Harrington goes on to say, “You know, there’s people that come along in your life and they just make an impact right away. Billy was one of those people.”
Adam donned a shorter haircut than what fans were used to with John Cates in the livestream interview with Fairman, revealing it’s for a role he’s preparing for.
As he couldn’t offer details, GH viewers will have to wait and see what Harrington is up to next, as information trickles down the pipe.
