General Hospital Spoilers: Frank Valentini’s High Praise Of ‘Ric Versus Sonny’ Scenes

General Hospital Spoilers: Frank Valentini’s High Praise Of ‘Ric Versus Sonny’ ScenesGeneral Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that while Ric Lansing has returned to Port Charles since August, he had yet to have a confrontation with his longtime rival and half-brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

That all changed during the Monday, September 16 episode when the two had a heated face-off. Actor Rick Hearst talked to Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about the encounter and the high praise both he and Benard received from GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini.

General Hospital Spoilers – Rick Hearst Got Emotional

Hearst stated that when he opened his script and realized he was having a scene with Maurice, he “welled up inside at the opportunity.”

He goes on to say he felt the same way before his first major scenes with Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Baldwin), and Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos).

Still, Hearst notes that his scenes with ‘Mo’’ were the biggest ones of all. He went on to marvel at the onscreen chemistry he shares with Benard, noting that the two laugh at it because they love “getting into it with each other.”

Rick tells SOD that he had deliberate goals for his scene with Maurice, stating, “I literally wanted to make sure that it was something where, the second we locked eyes with one another, we’re inside each other [psychologically].”

He goes on to say, “It’s very symbiotic that way. We did the first two scenes, and they were like, ‘Wow, those were great,’ and Mo said, ‘That’s what happens when he and I do this when we work together!’”

GH Spoilers – Hearst & Benard Receive Praise

GH fans enjoyed watching Monday’s show, as the brothers bantered back and forth about Alexis, Molly, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), as well as their mother and childhood past.

Valentini was on set for the end of the scenes, and offered praise to the two, noting that the interaction between Sonny and Ric was “great” and the scenes “worked” because of the deeply-rooted hate the two had for each other.
