Whatever age, whatever era we’re in, we are always going to love our girl Mariah Carey. She’s always keeping it real. I mean, she did redefine what the word diva means, didn’t she?
And now she’s telling us about what it’s like to be one of the world’s greatest singers standing underneath the glaring presence of an overhead light.
Mariah Carey Is Not A Fan of Overhead Lighting: “It Makes Me Sick”
You won’t find Mariah Carey on any line that supports the existence of overhead lighting. In fact, a clip from her chat with iHeart Radio’s ‘Las Culturistas Podcast’ proves it.
“I can’t with the overhead lighting,” she said. “Why do they do it to us? I shouldn’t say us, it’s not us, it’s me.”
“I’m the one who’s the most tortured by the hideous lighting in elevators, doorway, gyms — not that I go to the gym, I’m just saying,” she added.
“It’s hideous lighting,” she continued. “The sun is okay if it’s sunset, I’ll gladly go outside and put a little hat on or whatever and that’ll be pretty because the sunlight caresses your skin.” I can totally just picture the perfect sunset lovingly stroking Carey’s golden glow.
As for getting the perfect sun tan, Mariah wants you to do so in reasonable amounts. “It’s bad for you, so you have to be careful. But overhead lighting I don’t think so honey,” she said, meaningfully adding, “Please stop it! Everywhere I go, shut the lights! I don’t want to see them no more. Overhead lighting, it makes me sick!” So, on a scale of one to Mariah Carey, how much do overhead lightings bother you?
Mariah Carey Says It’s Not Yet Time For Her Christmas Jingle To Dominate the Radio: “They Always Rush Me”
The full interview will be dropping on Wednesday Oct. 16, and comes just as the “All I Want For Christmas” is you hitmaker confirmed that it’s not yet time for her seasonal hit to start soaring on the charts.
She did this via an Oct. 2 video, which saw her sitting in her private jet under a blanket as her 1994 jingle started to play on the radio. In response to this, the pilot announces, “This is your captain speaking. Welcome aboard Mariah — we are headed to the North Pole.”
However, Mariah isn’t quite convinced it’s time to make a trip to the place where Santa’s North Pole is said to be located. “Not yet, sorry,” she sang back, jokingly adding, “They always rush me.”
