Divorce Speculation Rises as Jessica Simpson Consults Attorneys?

There’s a buzz around a possible split between star Jessica Simpson and ex-NFL player Eric Johnson. As per TMZ, two sources close to Simpson note L.A. divorce lawyers have been contacted to talk about her marital situation over the past two months.

The sources have told TMZ that an individual close to Jessica contacted a Los Angeles divorce attorney in late March, explaining Simpson wasn’t happy with her marriage and wanted to schedule a meeting with them and the singer. Speculation about whether the meeting took place still remains.

As of this writing, TMZ noted that Simpson did not personally contact a divorce lawyer; however, the outlet did state that a second person on Jessica’s team reached out to another L.A. divorce attorney to talk about related matters. With that being said, nothing further has been done.

The increase in speculation regarding marriage woes heightened when Jessica posted a cryptic Instagram post recently.

She posted a couple of photos in her music room, with the following caption:

“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearth my singular magic. This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”

This is all open to interpretation; however, fans can’t help but feel as if Jessica is talking about her marriage issues.

Jessica Simpson’s Sister, Ashlee Simpson, Responds

TMZ approached Ashlee Simpson, Jessica’s sister and asked about the IG post and it potentially hinting divorce. Ashlee responded with a simple, “No.” Still, it’s unclear if Ashlee was denying divorce rumors or any knowledge of what is going on between her sister and brother-in-law.

Speculation around divorce started this past summer after fans realized that Jessica hadn’t shared a photo of her hubby on social media since September 2023 – his 44th birthday.

Feuling this was the fact that Jessica has not worn her wedding ring for several months within social media posts. The two began dating in 2010 and got married in July 2014.
