Ellen DeGeneres was ready to leave the USA, and when Donald Trump won the elections, she and Portia De Rossi escaped to the UK. But they couldn’t escape the bad weather there, and now, similar to her days in Montecito, she deals with severe flooding. Only this time, she’s in Oxfordshire.
The Floods In Montecito Shook Ellen DeGeneres
In January 2023, floods hit Montecito and it was really scary for the residents there. While the rich and famous love the place, it does come with the danger of wildfires, and last year, it experienced flooding. When she shared footage, the disgraced comedian who lost her talk show was very stressed.
Not everybody was sad to see that Ellen DeGeneres moved to the UK. Mind you, there had been rumors that she might move to Rwanda. She helped to set up a foundation that trains people to conserve gorillas. But perhaps Rwanda’s lack of recognition of gay marriage might have changed her mind.
Can’t Escape The Bad Weather
The UK suffered some terrible flooding in recent weeks. There were reports of some people losing their lives in Wales. And, the Cotswolds, where Jeremy Clarkson films his Clarkson’s Farm called Didly Squat, recently experienced flooding.
Ellen DeGeneres isn’t slumming it in a two-up-two-down cottage in the Cotswolds in Oxfordshire. The Daily Mail UK reported that her home there is a “multi-million-pound mansion…farmhouse [on] a 43-acre property.” The Netflix star who planned for no more comedian shows after her latest tour is now inundated by flood waters.
The outlet reported this weekend:
Rather than enjoying a pastoral retreat, Ellen, 66, and her wife Portia De Rossi, 51, have been left at the mercy of raging floods which have engulfed their new multi-million pound mansion…the couple’s 43-acre property in the Cotswolds has become swamped in a torrent of flood water following the devastating impact of Storm Bert.
Apparently, the disaster struck after “a tributary of the River Thames … broke its banks.”
