British royal family news divulges that Christmas at Sandringham could be all kinds of awkward this year. The Markle traitors are a distant memory, but a new foil has entered the fray, Queen Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles.
Oh the irony. Tom is a food writer and was specifically invited by his mom, the woman that Prince Harry and Prince William considered a step-monster at one point. Needless to say, William won’t be in attendance. Here’s the juicy dish about this royal dust-up in the post-Megxit era.
Tom Parker Bowles Is Invited
Tom told the Telegraph that he will be at Sandringham, days after articles intimated that William would refuse to join the festivities if his stepbrother was in attendance.
Things could be worse—this year Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were allegedly NFI. So there’s that for William to be grateful for.
Tom spilled that this is the first time he attends the Wales family’s soiree: “For the past 15 years it has been: I go back to my ex-wife’s house, sit in my tracksuit bottoms, go to the pub while the beef’s in, then try to get my children to watch The Wild Geese. Classic. So this would be a bit different.”

He added “My mum said ‘I’d love you to come, I haven’t had Christmas with you for a long time. It has been a hell of a two years for them. The older you get, the more conscious you become of mortality, especially with illnesses and the rest of it.”
He seems to be referring to the death of Queen Elizabeth, King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, and Camilla’s pneumonia battle. He said that after Camilla and Charles toured Australia and Samoa, she “went back to work before she should have done but she’s fine. She’s tough.”
Royal News – Tom Will Take William’s Place At The Table?
Tom will have ample opportunity to make small talk at Sandringham as he has just published a cookbook of royal family recipes titled ‘Cooking and the Crown.’ For now he is being circumspect about his invite, perhaps well aware of William’s alleged discomfort with him.
Tom claims to “know nothing about” the Sandringham Christmas this year except for “turkey and sprouts and church. And I have to bring a suit and a dinner jacket.”
According to Tom he has an open invitation to join the royals for the holidays but decided to participate in 2024 because Camilla personally asked him to.
No doubt the Christmas get together will be especially poignant given all that Camilla has been through, and honestly, why shouldn’t a mother and son enjoy Christmas dinner together? Tell us what you think royal fans!
